On Friday 25th March 2022, we celebrated 20 years in business and we marked the occasion with all of our staff as we headed to Belfast for a fantastic evening of food, drinks, music and craic.
Thanks to our wonderful Sage 200 client, The Deer’s Head, for hosting our party and for the great service throughout the evening.
We started this journey way back in 2002, and today we are proud to be one of the largest fully accredited Sage Business Partners in the UK and Ireland. Over the years, we’ve enabled hundreds of SME’s across multiple industries to efficiently manage and grow their businesses and we take great pride in doing so.
Thanks to all of our customers, partners and people that we’ve met over the last two decades and we look forward to continuing these relationships and forging many new ones.
Special mention to our founding Directors Declan Bradley and Dominic McMullan who continue to play leading hands-on roles within the company and a word of thanks to all of our staff, both past and present, for their contributions in allowing us to reach this milestone.
Here’s what Declan Bradley had to say:
“It’s crazy to think that we have just achieved a 20 year milestone in business. It doesn’t really seem that long ago that we dared to even think about leaving our current employers and taking the leap. But encouragement from friends and especially family, along with that “feeling you get in your gut” tells you it’s worth the risk.
Three key partners that have enabled our growth are great staff, Sage as a solution vendor and loyal customers – we really are indebted to you all.
Three key traits that have been required over the last 20 years and will be needed going forward are resilience, grit and humility. We look forward to working with you all again in the future”.
And a few words from Dominic McMullan:
“20 years ago, Acorn BMS started up as a new business with tons of ambition and enthusiasm. A look back to those early days shows just how much business and technology has changed!
In 2002, Microsoft had just released Windows XP. Sage had just launched MMS Version1 and Line 50 version 11. 45% of businesses in the UK had no internet connection and only 9% of the world population were internet users. Average internet usage was 46 minutes per day. It took 12.5 minutes to download a song on a 56k modem. The Linkedin.com domain had just been created.
The ability to adapt to change has always been important and we’ve a very exciting announcement to make in the next few weeks. We’d like to thank all our staff, customers, partners and Sage for making it all happen”.
